Going for Great: what makes a great school? November 2011
The presentations were excellent with really valuable material. A thought provoking session due to the quality of information and the presenters.
Gareth Stananought, Vice Principal, Harris Academy Chafford Hundred

(The session) gave me time to think about the behaviours necessary for successful coaching and to consider how those skills can be used successfully in school.
Cathy Pantelli, Deputy Headteacher, St George's Primary School

                                                    Narrowing the Gap, November 2011
(The facilitator's) clarity of input, intellectural delivery - secure in knowledge and delivery of the subject matter. It felt good to hear someone who genuinely, passionately believes in the subject. Lots of room for myself and SLT to reflect further and use as an agenda item for future SMT meetings. Thank you.

                                                    Evaluating Impact, September 2011
I wanted a session that would help me consider the evaluation process and unlock what I am doing at school. This session was very practical and thought provoking. Excellent balance, well chosen examples of thinking linked clearly to personal projects and opportunities for groupwork.

                                                    Leadership programme participant
I came to the Institute of Education as an Assistant Headteacher to participate in its excellent programme, 'Innovative CPD Leadership', led by Carol Taylor and Dr Karen Edge. They encouraged me to write up what I had learned to earn credits towards an MA and taught me the skills to do so. I was so enthused by my experience at the IoE that when I moved to Manchester shortly afterwards, I took the plunge and decided to complete the MA. I have since won an ESRC studentship to complete my PhD full-time. My life has changed dramatically since studying at the Institute thanks to the opportunities it provided and its nurturing environment.

Boston University study visit, August 2011
I have to say a big thank you for the connection to IOE. Your lead brought us to Professor Dina Mehmedbegovic. She provided us with one of the best experiences we could have hoped to have during our 18 day course. Her
lecture on the value of a plurilingual approach to education and the way she presented it made her a favorite of the students and since we had three teachers in the group, it impacted them in profound ways. In one case a student decided to stay in education rather than move to social work based on the potential impact. I commend her to you and some conference you are planning as a cutting edge thinker, working in tough urban and diverse ommunities with optimism, a theory and a vision. Thanks for you help.

The session clarified the need for different styles for different contexts. I trusted and had every confidence in the course leader.
