This seminar is hosted by the UCL Centre for Educational Evaluation and Accountability (www.educationalevaluation.net)

This one-week summer school offers valuable insights into the aims of educational accountability and evaluation and encourages a questioning and critical stance on accountability and evaluation across international contexts. The course is taught by a number of renowned international speakers who will introduce you to the latest insights on:

  • Conceptualizing accountability and system reform
  • Accountability and trust: how do they relate to improve learning outcomes?
  • School effectiveness and school improvement
  • Effects and side effects of school accountability and evaluation
  • Validity and reliability of measuring school effectiveness
  • Where next for external accountability in a decentralised system?
This summer school is for:
Inspectors, professional and technical staff working in the field of educational evaluation and accountability, both in the UK and internationally; e.g. school inspectors, Regional Schools Commissioners, senior (system) leaders involved in (the development of) peer review, and school evaluation.
